Flap creation

A corneal suction band is implemented to the eyeball, bearing the eyeball in place. This step in the operation can some of the times cause little blood vessels to explode, resulting in shedding blood or subconjunctival bleeding into the white (sclerotic coat) of the eyeball, a inoffensive side effect that settles within two or three weeks. Enhanced suction commonly causes a ephemeral blinding of sight in the operated eyeball. [Dr William Boothe Lasik]

Once the eyeball is blocked, the flap is produced. This operation is accomplished with a mechanical microkeratome utilising a metallic blade, or a femtosecond optical maser microkeratome (operation known as IntraLASIK) that makes a serial of little nearly arranged bubbles inside the cornea.[4] A flexible joint is left at one ending of this flap. The flap is collapsed back, unveiling the stroma, the center segment of the cornea. The operation of lifting and folding back the flap may be irritating. [Dr Boothe]
